ABOUT

SY Design Studio was founded in Seoul in 2011. 

SY Design engages in various fields such as furniture, product, space design, installation art, sculpture and art direction. Their unique design approach and expression method, which don’t consider an object simply as a tool but a media communicating with humans, has been acknowledged in Korea as well as Asia and Europe, earning them several global awards, and now they are actively expanding their business to a global level. 

In addition to designer activities, SY design has launched the kitchenware brand "Tackaon" in 2015 and present new lifestyles and innovative designs through various products.

Seung-Yong Song 

With a double major in sculpture and design, he pursues the optimum value and quality of a work through his overall knowledge in design techniques, including concept derivation, designing and production technique. After completing the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in design at École Supérieure d'Art et de Design de Reims in France in 2009, he has worked in many furniture and luxury brand projects (Moet et Chandon, Hennessy, Diptyque, Kenzo, Novotel, etc.) with French designers such as Claudio Colucci and Jean Marc Gady.

He founded SY Design in 2011 and created his own design language through various furniture projects such as Object Collection and Dami Collection. His creativity was recognized by Design Miami Basel and became the first Korean to win the Future Designer Award in 2013.

 He has collaborated with various companies such as Inbani (Spanish Bathroom Product Company), JIA (Taiwan Tableware Company) and Saturn Bath (Korea Bathroom Company) and has won world-class awards such as the 2017 Design Plus and 2019 IF Design Gold Awards.

 Since launching his own design kitchenware brand "Tackaon" in 2015, he is currently working as a creative director.

Min-kyoung Yang 

She has a delicate design sensibility and expression ability that developed from the experiences in various areas from product, space to graphic design, and is in charge of project planning and communication. She received the bachelor’s and master’s degrees in design at École Supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg in France in 2008, and worked on furniture and interior design of designer’s studio for Robert Stadler, Karine Lewkowicz and large corporations such as Louis Vuitton (architect department).

Since launching his own design kitchenware brand "Tackaon" in 2015, she is currently serving as CEO of Tackaon Co..
